Graphic Designer and Silver/Goldsmith, graduated from Moore College of Art and Design, Philadelphia.

Born to a family of artists, Maria inherits her creativity from her mother, renowned sculptor, Carmen Blondet. The affinity between mother and daughter is evident in their use of metal, but their works contrast dramatically in scale –one makes monumental metal sculptures and the other delicate pieces of jewelry.

In the 1990’s she came back to Puerto Rico and followed her passion for jewelry making. After a period of time that she dedicates to form and raise her family, in 2009 she retakes her formal work as a silver/goldsmith presenting a one-of-a-kind collection that has been very successful. María works in a daily basis in her studio in San Juan where, she designs, makes, and assembles each piece with dedication.

Her pieces are always done with the best materials; Argentium silver 935, Gold 22K,18K, 14K and a variety of semiprecious stones. Rhythm, texture, contrast, movement and brilliance are some of the word you can use to describe her work.

The uniqueness of Blondet’s work has caught the attention of a very discerning design conscious clientele that collects this artist’s work.

Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums internationally.
