About Guita M
Guita is tracing her love for jewelry design back to her childhood, frequently admiring the unique jewelry pieces of her grandmother. The many different colors of the gemstones and seemingly endless possible combinations of wearing these unique pieces made a lasting impression on her.
Uprooted by the revolution in Iran, Guita settled in the United States, worked her way through school and completed a degree in International Relations at Emory University. Utilizing her creativity and sense of style, Guita pursued a career in the fashion industry before reinventing herself and creating a successful beauty business, along the way learning about quality, craftsmanship and a discerning clientele. When Guita finally decided to sell her beauty business and reinvent herself yet again, she knew immediately that jewelry – by now a lifelong passion - would fill the next chapter of her life. Before sharing this passion with friends and family and, finally, the public, Guita spent years learning the art of model making, casting and navigating the labyrinths of this business.
Guita has been creating her unique collections and one-of-a kind pieces in New York since 2007 and she is working closely with artisans to realize her designs and turn them into impeccable pieces of jewelry. From the onset, Guita’s collection has been using the many different colors offered by gems and the possibilities of creating pieces from a wide variety of precious and semi-precious stones. Guita is focused on designing with materials that are unique and her works are a mix of statement pieces, fun jewels and unusual gemstones, all indicative of who Guita is: an adventurer and explorer.
Her designs offer women individuality and exclusivity and her unique pieces are available, among others, at Atelier d’Emotion (NY), Bergdorf Goodman (NY), Kirna Zabete, Roseark (LA), Tiny Gods (Charlotte), Market at Highland Park Village (Dallas), Brandon Boswell (Indian Wells) and, of course,
“I adore colorful gems because colors are an important ingredient in making life fun and exciting. The women I design for are an inspiration to me, because they are looking for something different and pieces to get excited over. The thrill for me is finding exquisite stones, combining striking colors and creating unique designs that leave a lasting impression.”
